Female Futures in Technology (FFIT)

8:30 am – 5:00 pm

    Six one-hour workshops include
  • Computer Aided Drafting
  • Computers
  • Electronics
  • Graphic Design
  • Medical/Surgical Technology
  • Multimedia

If you are a young woman going into grades 9 – 12 interested in learning about one or more of these career opportunities, check out FFIT Camp absolutely free. Lunch is provided. If possible, please bring a set of headphones. See registration information below.

Open to All 2008 and 2009 HS graduates.

Design Academy*
July 28 – 30, 2008
Spend three days developing creativity and skills in either computer aided drafting or in multimedia and graphic design. Enhance your computer design skills in these areas to help determine which career path is right for you.

Technology Academy*
July 28 – 30, 2008
Spend three days learning electronics, computers and systems integration. Develop your IT, programming and soldering skills and figure out what it takes to create an awesome home theater system. Learn techniques that will put you a step ahead in any tech career you pursue.

*General Details

  • Designed for 2008 or 2009 high school grads.
  • Cost: $250. Successful Academy attendees who apply for enrollment at PTI qualify for a $200 tuition deposit waiver.
  • Both academies spend two evenings together having a great time with new friends. Weather permitting, there’s swimming, bowling, volleyball and a scavenger hunt.
  • Attendees sleep at a nearby hotel with private bus transportation to PTI and all events.
  • Hotel accommodations include air conditioning, bedding, bath towels, TV, iron and hair dryer.
  • Items to bring: casual clothes, beach towel and bathing suit, sweatshirt/sweater, personal items.
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner plus evening snacks are provided.
  • Open: 9:30 am registration at PTI on July 28.
  • Close: 1:00 pm lunch with your family at PTI on July 30.
