Diagnostic Coding with ICD-10

Course Description

This course is designed to assist the experienced medical coder in transitioning from ICD-9-CM to ICD-10-CM. The course will provide an Introduction ICD-10-CM, highlight the differences between the two coding systems, and provide guidance for individual chapters. Students who attend all four sessions of this course will be awarded eight continuing education credits which have been approved by the American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC).

Competencies

  1. Understand the basic principles of ICD-10-CM coding related to physician coding
  2. Demonstrate proper utilization of the ICD-10-CM Manual
  3. Convert medical diagnoses into ICD-10-CM codes

Recommended Resource
ICD-10-CM, Elsevier, Edition 2015. (Student will provide the resource for the class.)

The course will be delivered as an instructor led webinar. Future Dates to be announced.

  • Please note that all classes per session must be attended to earn AAPC approved CEUs. No partial credit will be awarded.
