Appreciative crowds gathered at PTI Thursday night for the Winter 2014 Portfolio show. This highly anticipated event is the showcase for graduating Design students to present their portfolios of work to the public. Over 31 graduating students participated and were judged in the categories of Graphic Design, Video/3D Design, and Web/Interactive Design.
Each student presented their best work to admiring crowds of faculty, family and potential employers who moved from portfolio to portfolio to see the finished design work. Charlie McNerney’s 3D display featured a “larger than life” 3D image of himself and guests tried on sets of 3D glasses to view his presentation. Charlie plans to intern at Allegra 360 after graduation.
Taylor Heinselman’s presented an AT&T corporate campaign. “I selected AT&T because of their interesting color scheme,” Taylor indicated “I really enjoy corporate design work but my real dream is to illustrate children’s books someday.
The show included a touch screen drum set program that allowed guests to “play the drums” by touching the screen of an interactive touch screen monitor. The drum set program was a project of instructor Frank Schurter’s class. “I was very impressed how the students mastered this project,” Mr. Schurter said. “It started out to be very complicated and then the students realized on their own how energizing the basic touch design could be”
