Making Friends at Community Days

PTI made a lot of kids happy at Community Days August 1. Fourteen PTI students participated in the North Fayette event held at Donaldson Park by manning a booth just for kids. They played games, gave out prizes and made a lot of new friends.

Easy Ride to Help Kids

 On Aug. 2, a number of PTI students joined more than 200 participants and 45 volunteers in a Ride for Kids to support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. The ride is part of a national motorcycle event that raises awareness and needed funds for the more than 28,000 children in the United States who are living with the diagnosis of a brain tumor.

It was a perfect evening for graduation. Hundreds of graduates in cap and gown posed for pictures with family and friends on the patio of Soldiers & Sailors auditorium in Pittsburgh Wednesday. Graduates hurried to find friends to join them in a selfie for the once in a lifetime photo clad in graduation attire.

American Academy of Culinary Arts students demonstrated their creativity Saturday as inspired students in the program prepared their own ice cream creations to the delight of the hundreds who attended PTI’s Open House. The innovative recipes were part of a competition the culinary center held for the open house event.

Three Culinary Seniors from the American Academy of Culinary Arts showcased their talents in the senior graduation event Saturday. Sarah Ritchey, Shaun Thompson, and Fa Pham created, cooked and presented dishes of their own design to an admiring crowd of family and guests.

It was a perfect night for the PTI Block Party, an event held annually so housing students can meet, play some games and relax after a long week of study. All of the students in the residence halls were invited and a good crowd gathered on the campus lawn.
