Hundreds of PTI faculty and staff congregated Thursday to celebrate the college being named to a top place to work in Pittsburgh. The award, sponsored by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, honors the best of the best in the city. PTI was not only named a top workplace but was the only college to be so honored.

What is it Like to Be Homeless?

A group of PTI students spent a number of hours this week on the streets of Pittsburgh learning about the homeless first hand. The event is part of the Homeless Challenge Project involving thousands of college students across the nation sponsored by the National Coalition for the Homeless. Its objective is to develop personal awareness about the realities of homelessness.

The Eyes of Freedom Veterans Memorial arrived on campus Tuesday morning. This travelling exhibit honors the men of Lima Company, one of the hardest hit units in Operation Iraqi Freedom. The memorial honors all military members who have served their country.

Trooper Helicopter Buzzes PTI

PTI was visited by members of the Pennsylvania State Trooper helicopter team Tuesday. The demonstration was a test landing in preparation for Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Career Day to be held on campus September 24.

PTI students played a major role in the operations of the 24th Annual Pittsburgh Irish Festival held September 5,6, and 7th. Over 100 students participated in on the job training in a number of important roles during the festival held at the Riverplex.
