January 16th

  • Learning to Learn - Participants will explore strategies to encourage greater students participation in the learning process. specific areas of focus will include increasing reading participation, using writing as a learning tool, and facilitating effective not taking
  • Web Tools Seminar - Increase student engagement by using the web to assist in the learning process. The session introduces various professional and educational websites used to enhance the classroom experience.
  • Culinary-Cooking with Chef - Participants will experience cooking demos while enjoying PTI's new Culinary Labs.
    Note: 
    previous culinary experience is required
  • SolidWorks - Use one of the mechanical industry’s leading design-specific software systems. Attendees use advanced techniques to create three-dimensional parametric models, assemblies and construction documents.

April 11th

  • Introduction to Visual Basic - This workshop will introduce the students to the .NEt programming environment, specifically through the visual basic programming language. We will concentrate on creating interfaces and the specific controls necessary to implement those faces. Topics will include forms and control, basic control structures, for decision making and iteration, reading input and producing output, and importing third party resources to use in our programs.
  • Access - This course is a review of basic Microsoft Access components. We will complete Tables, Forms, Queries, and Reports. Topics include managing, arranging and searching for data from existing databases using Access software.
  • Culinary-Cooking with Chef - Participants will experience cooking demos while enjoying PTI's new Culinary Labs.
    Note: previous culinary experience is required
  • Revit - Get to know this structural industry design-specific software. Session covers advanced modeling techniques to create commercial construction documents extracted and annotated directly from object-based, three-dimensional structural models.
