CITIZEN’S POLICE ACADEMY OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY
Oakdale, PA -- The PA State Police in partnership with Pittsburgh Technical Institute presents the Citizen’s Police Academy of Allegheny County (CPA). The CPA is a 12-week program designed to expose selected Allegheny County citizens to the world of the police officer, the types of training officers receive and general law enforcement concepts and responsibilities. It is a forum for understanding and communications between citizens and police officers.

The CPA will run from Tuesday, March 4, 2008, through Tuesday, May 20, 2008. Participants will meet every Tuesday night from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Pittsburgh Technical Institute – North Fayette Campus, 1111 McKee Road, Oakdale, PA 15071.

Anyone who is interested must be at least 18 years of age, a resident of Allegheny County, and not possess a criminal history. (A background criminal check will be conducted.) Class size is limited so it will be first come, first served for the selection process.

Applications must be mailed to PA State Police, Trooper Robin Mungo, 449 McCormick Rd., Moon Township, PA 15108 and postmarked no later than Tuesday, Feb.19, 2008.
