Brush-Up Courses
How can you stay on top of technology AFTER you graduate?
PTI offers FREE brush-up courses to its graduates. If you haven't touched a particular software package since your PTI days, or if it's been a while since you used a certain skill, then brush-up is your way of staying current.
PTI listens to our grads and plans courses to suit their needs. Most classes are held at our convenient North Fayette Campus. Use the registration form on this page to sign up for the course that most interests you. Then attend all of the classes to earn a certificate of completion — share it with your employer and add it to your portfolio or resume.
When are brush-up courses offered?
- Brush-ups are offered year round — check back often for newly announced classes.
- Courses can be a single class or a series of consecutive days or weekends.

Dates: April 29, May 1, May 6, and May 8, 2013
Time: 5:30 – 8:30 pm
Instructor: Tim SamolisThis course is a review of basic Microsoft Access components. We will complete Tables, Forms, Queries and Reports. Topics include managing, arranging, and searching for data of existing databases and using database software to create reports and forms.

In this course, you will obtain hands-on experience in applying fundamental accounting principles within a computerized environment. Using computer technology, students gain experience setting up and maintaining accounts, recording transactions in the general and special journals, preparing payroll, completing the accounting cycle, and setting up accounting records for new companies. -

Prerequisite: Motion Graphics (MMA 257)Course Description: A close look at the most exciting new features including the ray trace 3D render engine, 3D camera tracker, variable mask feathering, and more.

Prerequisite: Videography (MMA 265)
Course Description: Digital single lens reflex cameras are a popular camera for digital cinematography due to the film-like nature of the imagery and the affordable price of the units. This one day workshop will cover the technical’s of achieving balanced exposure and camera settings optimal for acquiring video with a DSLR unit. The Canon 60D DSLR along with zoom, prime, and macro lenses will be used for the workshop.
