PTI Student Ambassadors
Visiting campus is a great way to get to know a school. It helps you get a feel for the environment, the interaction between instructors and students, the local community, even the food in the cafeteria.
But the real personality of a school is its students. Theresea, Chelsea and Patrick greet many of our visitors. You may have the opportunity to talk to one when you visit PTI’s North Fayette Campus. Before you come, here’s a chance to get to know each of them a little better.
Meet PTI's Student Ambassador and learn a little bit about them. Be sure the check out their blog.

Major: Travel and Tourism Hometown: Gibsonia Expected Graduation: July 2009 Dog or cat person: Dog, they’re always happy to see you At first Theresa had doubts about coming to a "tech" school, but enjoys every minute of it. "I love the hands-on experience and the people I have come to meet and know," Theresa says. "Every day is new and exciting." Driven by goals and an all around happy person, she believes in herself and is confident in what she does. Initially worried about her performance in classes she has proven to herself that if she works hard, she can achieve great things. "I love telling the story of my experience at PTI. When I meet new students I share that it’s okay to have doubts about situations and that it’s okay to ask for help." The students Theresa meets are interested in what goes on in classes and what the instructors are like. Parents are more interested in financial information. |

Major: Medical Assisting Hometown: Negley, OH Expected Graduation: July 2010 Dog or cat person: Definitely a dog person. I have a 130 lb. Golden Retriever named Brutus. Family brought Chelsea to PTI. Her cousin works at PTI and suggested she check out PTI’s School of Healthcare. She visited and liked everything about it. Knowing she wanted a career in the medical field, she checked out the medical labs: “I was impressed.” Chelsea is enrolled in the Medical Assisting program and is really enjoying her classes. When Chelsea shows families around PTI’s campus, she wants them to see what the school is about – how fun it is and all that PTI offers. "I like the whole school, and I want them to want to come here. PTI is a place where they can be themselves." |

Major: Business Administration – Accounting Hometown: Waldorf, MD Expected Graduation: October 2010 Surprising Fact: I was born in Paris. Already enrolled in a 4-year college near home, financial concerns had Patrick all ears when a good friend told him about his experiences at PTI. Wanting to make every second count, Patrick was excited that he could start his classes at PTI in January. Now, living near campus with his hometown pal, Patrick is constantly busy with his student ambassador duties in the morning, afternoon classes, and an evening job at a local hardware store. He's most excited about the opportunities PTI offers with internship and job placement. He's hoping to someday intern in a government position, possibly with the IRS. "There are so many things I want to tell visiting families about PTI. I try to stress the opportunities, clean environment, available transportation, tutoring center, technology, hands-on training, and especially the open door policy with the teachers. I've been able to get extra one-on-one help when I’ve needed it," says Patrick. |
