AACA Announces Culinary Cookoff Winners


The American Academy of Culinary Arts held a cooking competition in the AACA Culinary Center November 23. Students from across the region participated in the event. The winners are:

First Place
• Bethany Fisher and Taylor Broniszewski from Parkway West Vo-Tech

Second Place
• Alexis Hollen and Isabella White from Jefferson County AVTS

Third Place
• Miranda McConnell and Sunshine McCullough from Western Area AVTS

This exciting event is part of a series of competitions hosted by the American Academy of Culinary Arts for high school students in the region. “It was a high energy event” said Chef Instructor Amanda Flesch who was the floor judge for the competition. “The competitions was very close”

AACA will continue the series of culinary competitions with a new program called Cookoff Light that is open to the public so check the AACA website for dates and times.

Mardi Gras at AACA

It was just like Bourbon Street in the kitchens of the American Academy of Culinary Arts on Saturday February 21. Chef Hart and his students hosted the Chaine Des Rotisseurs society for a Mardi Gras gourmet brunch that would make any gourmand from the Big Easy proud.
