AACA and PTI
The American Academy of Culinary Arts is the culinary division of PTI’s School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts. The history of Pittsburgh Technical Institute, the leading career college in Western Pennsylvania, and its 65-year track record of graduating students in demand by employers, provides strength of reputation to AACA, the nouvelle cuisine of culinary education.
You are backed by the stamp of quality of PTI’s Middle States Commission of Higher Education accreditation. This regional accreditation adds credibility to your transcript should you decide to pursue additional education.
As an AACA student you have access to a wide range of PTI resources: the guidance of the PTI admissions and financial aid planning team to help you start college and the direction of the residence life staff to assist in your selection of on-campus housing or off-campus housing.
Throughout your culinary education you can enjoy student activities, intramural sports, clubs, organizations, and community service projects that are a part of the PTI campus experience.
At graduation, the PTI Career Services Department will help you transition from AACA’s kitchens to the kitchen of your new employer. It starts with building a strong resume and includes perfecting your 10-second elevator speech, refining your interview skills during mock interviews, and learning how to ask for the job.
Recognizing that your career may make stops in many kitchens, restaurants, and hotels, Career Services stands ready to help you update your resume and identify that next perfect opportunity.
The American Academy of culinary Arts at PTI is a double dip of education: the focused, innovative learning of AACA supported by the tradition of PTI.
